Regina Speech Centre is Moving Online.

To our families and community locally:

It is with heavy hearts that we’ve made the difficult decision to close our physical clinic site for at least the next three weeks starting on Friday March 20th to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19.  We want to thank you, from the bottom of our hearts. The flexibility and responsibility we’ve seen from our clinicians and families since we started to modify our operations in response to COVID-19 is amazing. There have been new processes and changes to adapt to in our clinic, and in our personal lives, all while experiencing the uncertainty of what’s next. We are in uncharted waters and we thank you for bearing with us.  We have been closely following the recommendations from the Saskatchewan Health Authority and feel at this time, this is the best decision to make.  We feel you are all a part of our family and this was a difficult call.  We remain committed to your care and will move forward with decision-making based in facts and science, combined with frequent communication.

So, what now? How can we all stay together and stay connected during this frightening and highly uncertain time? Can we still find ways to meet your needs, at a time when it’s needed more than ever? Here’s what we have in mind so far:

  • We will be moving online: We remain available for appointments through telehealth.  We know your child’s communication development is important to you and want to continue supporting your family.  Our HIPAA compliant telehealth services will be available starting Monday.  We please ask you to connect with your clinician directly and they will book a time that works for both of you and provide you a link to get started.  We will continue to accept payment through both e-transfers and credit cards.  Debit and cash payments will no longer be available.
  • Join us on social: We will be offering continued communication advice, fun activities you can do at home, Facebook live events and updates.
  • We will offer expanded school age services: including assessments and therapy for reading, writing, and spelling online.  Stay connected to our social media and website for updates.
  • We will offer online group connections: including education sessions, group information chats, and webinars.

To our clients and community, remember the power of adaptability. Stay present, be responsible, and try to take advantage of your time at home to really connect with your children and be present with them.  Great communication comes from connection.  While this is an incredibly confusing time it is also an opportunity to really connect as a family.

Lastly thank you to our amazing team at Regina Speech Centre, we are so lucky to have such an amazing dedicated and caring group of clinicians.  We all look forward to serving your needs on our new platform.

Sincerely,

Cynthia Bakker and Nichole Forbes
