Developing Oral Language in the Classroom; language to literacy
Do you have students who struggle with story telling or describing? Do you have EAL students in your classroom who are just learning English? Do you want some ideas beyond “show and tell” to promote oral language development in your classroom? This is your chance to get information from a speech-language pathologist on practical activities to grow your students’ language in the classroom.
With this event participants will;
– Identify factors for effective learning
– Identify the general phases of language development
– Identify at least one activity that can be done in the classroom to promote oral language development

When Reading is Hard
December 4th, Neil Balkwill Centre, Regina
This will be a talk on the underlying causes of reading difficulites in school age children. Presented in partnership with Emerald Park Eye Care, Outcomes Therapy, and Dr. Fuchs-Lacelle, RDPsych.
